A'uté A'uwê Uptabi: being an A'uwê child
Village Pimentel Barbosa, MT
the movie rreveals the universe of the A'uwê children, as the Xavante Indians call themselves, their games, their daily lives, the childhood phase. It was carried out in the Xavante Pimentel Barbosa village, in the homonymous Indigenous Land, in a cerrado region, in the state of Mato Grosso, in the center-west of Brazil.
It is a look, between the multiple angles of an ancient culture. A record for understanding the differences. A possibility of looking at the other in their distinctions, both apparent such as ethnicity, and internalized such as culture.

Dasiwa'uburézé: our culture
Village Pimentel Barbosa, MT
The film was made in 2014 in the Pimentel Barbosa village, in the homonymous Indigenous Land. It reveals the oldest rituals of the A'uwê Uptabi people, as the Xavante call themselves. It relates through the ancients the myths of origin in cartoons, the very old stories and rituals.
Deholders of orally transmitted knowledge, the elders are the repositories of memory, the mark of the past in the present. Most of those in this documentary are no longer with us, they left their stories recorded in this film for future generations. Our eternal thanks!
To Sereburã, Hipru, Barbosa, Algostinho, Valdo, Eduardo, Marinho, Suptó, and the entire Xavante community of Pimentel Barbosa!

Piõ Höimanazé the Xavante woman in her art
Etenhiritipa Village, MT
The film reveals the wealth of knowledge that the A'uwê warriors, self-denominated Xavante, have preserved for thousands of years. Its secrets and the art of living, Höimanazé, which are transmitted from generation to generation until the present day.
It contributes to elucidate what the indigenous feminine universe raises within us, for an understanding of being human, of being a woman.
